CORD Rules 2.0 — What's New
Eight significant changes — each designed to reduce friction, improve access, and raise the standard of dispute resolution in India.
The Rules, at a glance
Eight features. One modern framework.
01 · Tiered arbitrator fees
Every arbitration is assigned a Tier.
Each arbitration commenced under the Rules is assigned one of three Tiers — Tier I, Tier II or Tier III, having regard to the Dispute Value and the complexity of the dispute. The Tier determines the fees payable to all members of the Tribunal under the corresponding Part of the Schedule of Fees — Part A (Tier I), Part B (Tier II) and Part C (Tier III) — ranging from 60% to 140% of Fourth Schedule rates.
Lower Dispute Value, or a dispute of lower complexity.
Mid-range Dispute Value, or ordinary commercial complexity.
Higher Dispute Value, or a novel, technical or multi-party dispute.
